Prevention and Early intervention services to children, families and communities
Prevention and Awareness
The term "prevention" is typically used to represent activities that stop an action or behavior. It can also be used to represent activities that promote a positive action or behavior.
Child abuse interventions must both reduce risk factors and promote protective factors to ensure the well-being of children and families. Protective factors are conditions in families and communities that, when present, increase the health and well-being of children and families.
They are attributes that serve as buffers, helping parents who might otherwise be at risk of abusing their children to find resources, supports, or coping strategies that allow them to parent effectively, even under stress.
Early intervention
Early intervention services are defined as services that: ‘target children, youth, families, women, older persons and communities identified (through a developmental risk assessment) as being vulnerable or at risk and ensure, through strengths-based developmental and therapeutic programmes, that they do not have to experience statutory intervention of any kind.
In our case we focus on children, youth and families as we receive a subsidy for child protection only.
Early intervention services of the ACVV have the following primary goals:
Provision of Statutory Intervention
In the case of prevention and early intervention programs fail for:
Reintegration interventions
